Connect ESPN — privacy
What the browser extension reads, what it does with it, and what it never does.

The short version. The extension reads two ESPN session cookies from your own browser and hands them to a PICKDOME page you have open. It stores nothing, sends nothing to us or anyone else, and contains no analytics or tracking of any kind.
What it reads
Exactly two cookies, from one site
The extension reads SWID and espn_s2 from fantasy.espn.com. These are the session values ESPN sets when you sign in, and they are what identifies your league membership.
It reads nothing else — no browsing history, no other sites, no other cookies, no page content, no personal details. It cannot see your ESPN password, because your password is never stored in a cookie.
What it does with them
Hands them to the page in front of you, and nothing more
When you click Connect ESPN on pickdome.com or draft.pickdome.com, that page asks the extension for the two values and uses them to read your league's roster and scoring settings.
The extension will only answer those two sites. Any other website that tries to ask is refused.
You can also open the extension and press Copy both, which places the values on your clipboard so you can paste them yourself.
What it never does
No storage, no servers, no tracking
- It does not store the values. Nothing is written to disk or to extension storage.
- It makes no network requests of its own — none, to anyone.
- It contains no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising and no third-party code.
- It never asks for, sees, or transmits your ESPN password.
- It does not modify ESPN or any other website.
- It does not sell, share or transfer data. There is no data to sell.
Where the values go after that
Your browser tab, and one request to read your league
The PICKDOME page keeps the two values in session storage, which your browser clears when you close the tab. They are sent once, over HTTPS, to our own server, which uses them only to ask ESPN for your league's settings and then discards them. We do not log them and we do not keep a copy.
Signing out of ESPN invalidates the values immediately. You can also press Disconnect on the settings screen to clear them at once.
Why an extension is needed at all
Because a website cannot read another website's cookies
ESPN offers no sign-in for third-party apps, and browsers correctly forbid one site from reading another site's cookies. A browser extension, which you install deliberately, is the only mechanism permitted to do it. That is the extension's entire reason to exist.
